So what’s the key to take your prospects from leads to buyers?

I have a lot of conversations with other network and internet marketers from all levels of experience. Wherever the conversation begins is no matter as it always seems to end up to the subject of lead generation, conversations and how one is taking their prospects though the funnel from prospect to buyer.

From Leads To Conversions

A newbie’s focus seems to be on leads. This is natural as you need a lead before you can make a sale. It amazes me that many seem not to care where the lead comes from as long as they have someone to call or e-mail. In my opinion the shift in the thought process here should be one of simply having leads to having targeted leads or warm leads. A lot of new marketers will buy leads. That is not necessarily a terrible thing as it gives them practice in talking to people and taking them from leads to warmer prospects. The problem I see is that high expectations are set when a new marketer buys a batch of leads and begins to market to them. Now, I am all for positive thinking and assuming the sale, however, converting a buyer from a lead is tough to do when the lead is from a generic opt in offer that does nothing to make the prospect familiar with you or your product. The sooner one can generate leads from their own offer the sooner conversions from your leads will increase.

From Leads To Conversation

I like to refer to my sales process as a conversation, The success of the process will depend on the level you can take your conversation. If the conversation never gets past the opt in then you obviously have no chance of going from lead to conversation. If you can connect with the person from the first moment and take the conversation from cyberspace, e-mail or ad to a person to person conversation you will begin to see the magic happen.

We have to remember that leads are people. People join people before they join opportunities. And people buy from people they know like and trust.

Take your prospects from leads to a conversation that you both enjoy and see what kind of impact that will have on your business as well as how much more you will enjoy it!

Everyone employs different prospecting channels in order to make a sale from a lead. I believe that if you start viewing your leads as people looking for what you have to offer as a solution then you will fair better and separate yourself from the noise. This simplistic approach can be easily forgotten based on the conversations I have been having recently with other marketers People will talk to you about what they are looking for and what they want to avoid. They will stiff arm you when you try and sell to them. Shift your focus a bit and target a conversation as an end goal from leads you have in your pipeline.
